Domestic oil tanks can be found in most rural areas across the UK where the availability of gas is limited to towns and cities.
More often than not, properties dotted around the perimeters of small towns and villages in the countryside benefit from oil central heating. The use of Kerosene or 28seconds heating oil across these remote areas has proven a cost effective alternative to other available fuels.
Kerosene (burning oil) has a lower flashpoint than that of Gas Oil but can still be stored safely at home. Section J of the building regulations details what constitutes a legal store.
